Knox County Honor Guard

The Knox County Sheriff's Honor Guard unit is comprised of Knox County Deputies and Correction Officers.  The Honor Guard is given the honor and responsibility of providing official Sheriff's Office representation at funeral services for members of the law enforcement community who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the performance of their duties.  They also participate in funerals of  active and retired law enforcement personnel.  Members of the Honor Guard may be called  to attend out of county and out of state funerals involving deaths of officers in the line of duty.

In addition, Honor Guard members also represent the Knox County Sheriff's Office during parades and other official functions as designated by the Sheriff.    The Honor Guard represents the Sheriff's Office at many ceremonies that require the national and state flags to embellish the event and preserve and create new traditions.  The Honor Guard posts the colors at agency and public events, including swearing in ceremonies, parades, and other ceremonies deemed appropriate by the Sheriff.

Knox County Honor Guard members have volunteered for the unit as an added duty to their normal responsibilities to the Sheriff's Office.  Many of the members have additional assignments in other specialties.  These Deputies and Correctional Officers have set themselves apart as being some of the most dedicated and best uniformed personnel in the Sheriff's Office.  The Honor Guard takes great pride in representing the Knox County Sheriff's Office.
